Prof.
Chengshan Xiao is recruiting PhD students for Fall 2014
Prof. Chengshan Xiao plans to recruit one or two Ph.D. students with
RA plus tuition fee in the areas of Wireless Communications and Signal
Processing for Fall 2014. Students who have already earned MS degrees in the
related areas with outstanding academic records are welcome to contact him via
email at xiaoc@mst.edu.
Individuals, who have solid experience in Verilog Codes with Altera’s
FPGAs, and/or have strong background in nonlinear optimization, channel coding,
channel estimation and equalization, linear precoding, sphere decoding and/or
iterative detection, will be given higher priority for considerations.Prof.
Xiao is an IEEE Fellow, a Member of the Fellow Evaluation Committee of IEEE
Communications Society (ComSoc), Board of Governor of IEEE ComSoc,
Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE ComSoc. He has served as the Editor-in-Chief of
the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications for 2010 through 2013. His
research lab has a very strong research team with expertise ranging from pure
theoretical research to practical hardware implementation of their own
algorithms. His research lab has very rich advanced equipment. His funded
research projects span from Sky-wave communications, terrestrial
communications, to underwater acoustic communications. The frequency band of
his research ranges from kilohertz (kHz) to gigahertz (GHz). The students
who graduated from his research group found jobs in both academia and industry
including Qualcomm and Broadcom, etc.
